Private ADHD assessments for children and adults
Face-to-face assessments from an experienced clinical team, with built-in support after your diagnosis.

Whether you’re seeking clarity for your child or for yourself, we’re here to guide and support you through every step.
A clear, caring route to diagnosis
If you’re looking for answers for your child or yourself, an ADHD assessment can give you clarity and a way forward. Our private ADHD assessments help you understand how attention, focus and energy levels shape everyday life, taking a strengths-based approach that looks at someone’s strengths as well as the areas where support may help. Whatever the outcome, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and a sense of what to do next.
Our assessments are carried out by our multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians, in line with NICE guidelines. We use gold-standard diagnostic tools for ADHD, including the QbCheck or QbTest (a computerised attention test), the DIVA interview, and the BRIEF executive function questionnaire.
We also have significant experience assessing people who’ve been considered hard to assess in the past, and we work to make the process feel calm and predictable throughout

What makes our ADHD assessments different

Five things you can expect from us:
- Answers without the long wait. NHS ADHD waiting lists are notably long, particularly for adults. We offer a clear, timely route to assessment.
- Meeting you where you’re most comfortable. Unlike many providers, we can carry out the assessment fully face-to-face, at our clinics or at your home, with home visits included at no extra cost. For ADHD assessment, in-person sessions help us see how attention and energy actually work day-to-day. Online sessions are also available – the choice is yours.
- A team-based diagnosis. . Every assessment is reviewed by our multidisciplinary team across clinical psychology, educational psychology and related specialisms. No single clinician makes the call alone.
- Recognised where it matters. Our reports are recognised by schools, employers (for workplace adjustments) and the NHS.
- Support beyond the report. From explaining the report to helping with workplace adjustments, school support or any next steps you want to explore, post-diagnostic support is included as standard.
ADHD assessments for children and teenagers

Child ADHD assessment
If you’ve noticed your child struggling with focus, organisation, sitting still or following instructions, or their school has raised concerns, an assessment can give you clarity and a way forward.
We assess children and teenagers in a calm, considered way, taking time to build a connection so we get an accurate picture of them.

What it involves
A QbCheck or QbTest with your child, alongside a Young DIVA interview with you as parent or guardian.
We also use the BRIEF2 questionnaire to understand how your child manages everyday tasks like planning, organisation and emotional regulation.
A Conners 4 ADHD questionnaire, completed by a parent, guardian or someone from your child’s educational setting, helps us complete the picture.

Why it helps
For many families, an ADHD diagnosis explains years of struggle. The whole family gains a clearer understanding of how your child’s mind works, and your child can now access the right support at school, including reasonable adjustments and an Individual Development Plan (IDP) in Wales or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) in England.
Adult ADHD assessment

Adult ADHD assessment
Many adults reach a point of recognising ADHD traits in themselves, often after years of feeling chaotic, scattered, or like they’re working twice as hard for the same results.
An assessment can bring real clarity, self-understanding, and access to support and adjustments at work and in daily life.

What it involves
A QbCheck or QbTest with you, alongside a DIVA interview. With your consent, the DIVA can involve a partner, parent or someone who knows you well, which helps build a fuller picture.
We also use the BRIEF2A questionnaire and CAARS 2 ADHD questionnaire to understand how ADHD affects your everyday executive function.

Why it helps
For many adults, an ADHD diagnosis explains what’s been hard for years.
With that comes a clearer understanding of yourself, the language to talk about your needs at work, and access to reasonable adjustments and the right support.
A clear path from first enquiry to final report
We’ve designed our ADHD assessment process to feel calm and predictable. Assessment days are structured to work around attention and energy, with breaks built in where they help. Here’s what to expect, step by step:
1 – Free 15-minute consultation
A no-pressure conversation with our team to talk through your situation and answer your questions.
2 – Confirmation and case history
Once you’re ready to proceed, we agree dates and send a simple case history form.
3 – Questionnaires
Sent to schools, workplaces or partners as appropriate, alongside the BRIEF executive function questionnaire, which gives us a picture of how executive function works in day-to-day life.
4 – QbCheck or QbTest assessment.
A computerised attention test, taking up to 60 minutes.
5 – DIVA interview.
A 90 minute interview with a parent, partner or guardian.
6 – Team meeting
Our clinicians meet to formulate the diagnosis together.
7 – Feedback appointment
We talk you through the draft report two days after you receive it.
8 – Final report
Delivered within one week of your feedback appointment.
9 – Ongoing support
We stay on hand to help you act on the report, whether that means talking through workplace adjustments, strategies for focus and organisation, or supporting schools with accommodations for attention and executive function.
Our ADHD and combined pathways follow a similar structure.
What you receive
At the end of the process you receive a detailed ADHD assessment report from the whole team. It sets out clearly whether a diagnosis is given, the reasoning behind it, and practical recommendations tailored to how ADHD actually shows up in your day-to-day life. The report can be used to support requests for reasonable adjustments at school or work.
Whatever the outcome, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and a sense of what to do next. If a diagnosis isn’t given, we’ll explain why in plain terms and talk about what might help instead.
Built-in support after your assessment
For us, an ADHD diagnosis is just the start. We include support after your assessment to help you act on the recommendations, whether that means talking through workplace adjustments, strategies for focus and organisation, or supporting schools with accommodations for attention and executive function.
In-house prescribing for ADHD medication
For clients with a confirmed ADHD diagnosis who choose to consider medication, our in-house Nurse Prescriber, Chris Burrows, offers clear, evidence-based support. He works with children, teenagers and adults, from initial medication assessment through to ongoing prescribing.
We keep prescribing in-house, so the person who assessed you and the person managing your medication are part of the same team. There’s no need to move to a separate platform, or repeat your history to someone new.
Whatever the outcome, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and a sense of what to do next. If a diagnosis isn’t given, we’ll explain why in plain terms and talk about what might help instead.

Quick answers to common questions
How long does it take?
On average, our private ADHD assessment takes around 6-8 weeks from initial assessment to final report – avoiding NHS waiting lists which can stretch to years. The ADHD pathway typically involves two main appointments and a team meeting before your report.
Where do assessments take place?
We see clients face-to-face at our clinics in South Wales, West Yorkshire, Kent and Bristol, at partner clinics across Wales and England, or in your home at no extra cost. If you’d prefer, the assessment can also be carried out online.
Can adults still benefit from an ADHD diagnosis?
Yes. Many adults find that a diagnosis explains years of feeling chaotic, scattered, or like they’re working harder than everyone else for the same result. It can also give you access to workplace adjustments and support tailored to how your mind actually works.
