Private Autism assessments for children and adults
Face-to-face, NICE-aligned assessments from an experienced clinical team, with built-in support after your diagnosis.

Whether you’re seeking clarity for your child or for yourself, we’re here to guide and support you through every step.
A clear, caring route to diagnosis
If you’re looking for answers for your child or yourself, an Autism assessment (sometimes called an ASD assessment) can give you clarity and a way forward. Our private Autism assessments help you understand how someone experiences the world, taking a strengths-based approach that looks at what they’re good at as well as the areas where support may help. Whatever the outcome, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and a sense of what to do next.
Our assessments are carried out face-to-face by our multidisciplinary team of experienced clinicians, in line with NICE guidelines. We use gold-standard diagnostic tools for Autism, including the ADOS-2, the ADI-R and the ACIA.
We also have significant experience assessing people who’ve been considered hard to assess in the past, and we work to make the process feel calm and predictable throughout.

What makes our Autism assessments different

Five things you can expect from us:
- Answers without the long wait. NHS Autism waiting lists can stretch to several years. We offer a clear, timely route to assessment.
- Meeting you where you’re most comfortable. Unlike many providers, we can carry out the assessment fully face-to-face, at our clinics or at your home, with home visits included at no extra cost. For Autism assessment, in-person observation can pick up details about communication and social interaction that are harder to see online. Online sessions are also available – the choice is yours.
- A team-based diagnosis. Every assessment is reviewed by our multidisciplinary team across speech and language therapy, clinical psychology and educational psychology. No single clinician makes the call alone.
- Recognised where it matters. Our reports are recognised by employers and the NHS. They are also recognised by schools, including for Individual Development Plan (IDP) applications in Wales or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) applications in England.
- Support beyond the report. From explaining the report to liaising with schools, supporting IDP/EHCP applications or talking through workplace adjustments, post-diagnostic support is included as standard.
Autism assessments for children and teenagers

Child Autism assessment
If you’ve noticed differences in how your child communicates, plays or relates to others, or their school has raised concerns, an assessment can give you clarity and a way forward.
We assess children and teenagers in a calm, considered way, taking time to build a connection so we get an accurate picture of them.

What it involves
An assessment of your child using the ADOS-2 (the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule), carried out face-to-face at our clinic or in your home, alongside a detailed developmental interview with you as parent or guardian using the ADI-R.
We also gather information from your child’s school or education setting, so the picture is complete.

Why it helps
For many families, a diagnosis is the moment things start to make sense.
The whole family gains a clearer understanding of how your child sees the world, and your child can now access the right support at school, including an IDP/EHCP where appropriate.
Autism assessments for adults

Adult Autism assessment
Many adults reach a point of recognising autistic traits in themselves, often after years of feeling different without knowing why.
An assessment can bring real clarity, self-understanding, and access to support and adjustments at work and in daily life.
It’s never too late to seek answers.

What it involves
An assessment using the ADOS-2, alongside an in-depth interview using the ADI-R.
With your consent, this interview can involve a partner, parent or someone who knows you well, which helps build a fuller picture.

Why it helps
For many adults, an assessment finally gives a name to something they’ve felt for years.
With that comes a clearer understanding of yourself, the language to talk about your needs with others, and access to reasonable adjustments at work.

A clear path from first enquiry to final report
We’ve designed our Autism assessment process to feel calm and predictable. Every step is planned so you know what’s coming, and children have time to settle before any observation begins. Here’s what to expect, step by step:
1 – Free 15-minute consultation
A no-pressure conversation with our team to talk through your situation and answer your questions.
2 – Confirmation and case history
Once you’re ready to proceed, we agree dates and send a simple case history form.
3 – Questionnaires
Sent to schools or education settings, and to partners or family members as appropriate. These help us understand how Autism traits present across different environments.
4 – ADOS-2 assessment
A 45 to 90 minute assessment.
5 – ADI-R interview
A 2.5 to 3 hour interview with a parent, partner or guardian.
6 – Team meeting
Our clinicians meet to formulate the diagnosis together.
7 – Feedback appointment
We talk you through the draft report two days after you receive it.
8 – Final report
Delivered within one week of your feedback appointment.
9 – Ongoing support
We stay on hand to help you act on the report, whether that means talking to schools, supporting an IDP or EHCP application, or thinking through how sensory and communication needs shape home life.
Our ADHD and combined pathways follow a similar structure.
What you receive
At the end of the process you receive a detailed Autism assessment report from the whole team. It sets out clearly whether a diagnosis is given, the reasoning behind it, and practical recommendations for home, school or work life. If your child is the focus, the report can be used to support requests for school accommodations or an IDP/EHCP.
Whatever the outcome, you’ll leave with a clearer understanding and a sense of what to do next. If a diagnosis isn’t given, we’ll explain why in plain terms and talk about what might help instead.
Built-in support after your assessment
For us, an Autism diagnosis is just the start. We include support after your assessment to help you act on the recommendations, whether that means working with a school on classroom accommodations, supporting an IDP/EHCP application, or talking through how sensory and communication needs shape home life.
For adults, we can help think through workplace adjustments and next steps.
Clear pricing, no surprises

Quick answers to common questions
How long does it take?
On average, our private Autism assessment takes around 6 to 8 weeks from first assessment to final report. This avoids NHS waiting lists, which can stretch to years. The Autism pathway typically involves two main appointments and a team meeting before your report.
Where do assessments take place?
We see clients face-to-face at our clinics in South Wales, Bristol, West Yorkshire and Kent, at partner clinics across Wales and England, or in your home at no extra cost. If you’d prefer, every part of the assessment can also be carried out online.
Is the diagnosis recognised?
We carry out the ADOS-2 in a calm, child-led way. It’s an observation rather than a test, so there’s no pressure on your child to perform. We take the time to build rapport so they feel at ease.
